Common Crane In 1998 The Foundation carried out a feasibility study into restoring the crane to northern Scotland. Discussions were had with experts from Europe and North America, including the International Crane Foundation, as well as study visits to key areas and crane workers. The view was that this was possible and desirable, but at that time support in the UK for reintroductions was low so the project was put on the back-burner. We are now re-assessing the feasibility of carrying out this project and believe that it would be successful.
